How To Make Fitness Part of Your Identity
Creating new fitness goals can be one of the hardest things to do due to the time commitment and consistent physical effort it takes to see real change. This is where the RAK philosophy can shine.
Roots: Why do you want to create a habit of fitness? Dig deeper than physical change. Here its important to set reasonable goals that you can achieve in the shorter term that can be built on for harder goals.
Awareness: Don’t disrupt your schedule right away. Add one or few new physical activities at times where you are more free ahead of time, and follow this schedule. Once this becomes a habit, add another physical activity. Follow this pattern until you are satisfied.
Kindness: With fitness it can be really hard to see changes day to day. Keep track of progress with progress pictures. Find ways to quantify your fitness journey. Track weightlifting numbers or running times to tweak your system. This will also creat a positive reinforcement loop as you see those numbers get better. Remember, it’s very important that you are practicing setting aside time and energy for physical fitness. Be proud of that every step of the way!
