If you have tried and failed and you carry shame about it, I want you to know this is the room where that ends. Reversal is real. Bring whatever you're bringing. Let's work through it together, my friend.

What this is

Lifestyle medicine,
practiced clinically.

I am the doctor I needed when I was where you are. The labs that wouldn't move. The weight that kept climbing. The shame I kept quiet about. I have lived all of it, and that is what I bring to the work.

I'm a board-certified Internal Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine physician. My practice focuses on lifestyle medicine: the food, movement, sleep, stress, and behavior change work that most clinical visits don't have time for. I take a small number of patients so we can actually do this work together.

Most of my patients come to me with cardiometabolic concerns: prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, weight that won't move, fatty liver, lipids that aren't responding to the usual playbook. I manage related medications and coordinate with your primary care doctor, cardiologist, endocrinologist, or anyone else on your team so the whole picture stays connected. I'm not replacing your PCP. I'm the lifestyle medicine specialist alongside them.

I take a limited number of patients each year. Spots are by application only, and only in the 12 states where I'm licensed.

What I help with

What patients come
to me for.

Most of my work is cardiometabolic, the diagnoses your primary doc names in 15 minutes and then refers you elsewhere for. We have the time to actually move them.

What changes

What patients commonly experience.

Cardiometabolic markers move when the lifestyle work takes hold and we measure it. Here is what we track and what tends to shift over the first 90 to 180 days.

Blood pressure
Come off a BP medication.

Blood pressure normalizes as the lifestyle work takes hold. I taper medications with your prescribing doctor in the loop, never on my own.

Glucose & A1c
An A1c that moves the right way.

Prediabetic A1cs back into normal range. Type 2 diabetes into remission for patients ready to do the work. Glucose tolerance you can feel.

Lipids
Cholesterol that responds.

LDL down. HDL up. Triglycerides headed the right direction. Lipid panels your cardiologist will recognize.

Energy & sleep
Energy that holds the day.

Sleep that lands. Afternoons that don't crater. Workouts you actually recover from. The kind of energy you forgot was normal.

Weight
Weight that follows the work.

Not a number to hit. A body that works for the life you want. The weight follows the lifestyle, not the other way around.

Medication load
Fewer pills, on purpose.

When the underlying drivers shift, the prescriptions often shift with them. Deprescribing is part of the practice, not an afterthought.

Individual results vary. Lifestyle medicine is co-managed with your full medical team.

Conditions I commonly treat
Type 2 diabetes & reversal · Prediabetes & insulin resistance · Hypertension · Dyslipidemia · NAFLD (fatty liver) · Metabolic syndrome · Obesity & weight management · Chronic stress & burnout · Sleep disorders · GLP-1 management & deprescription
What's included

Yes, we meet.
Yes, I'm your doctor.

This is a real medical practice. You see me, not a coach or a care team member. I order labs, manage the medications under my purview, and coordinate with your other doctors. Here is what's included.

01

Direct visits with me

You meet with me, not staff or a coach. Every visit is one-on-one, with the time it actually takes to do this work.

02

Labs ordered and reviewed

I order the labs I need, and we review them together so the numbers actually mean something to you. Past labs welcome.

03

Medication management

I adjust, refill, and where appropriate deprescribe medications related to what I treat. Outside my lane, your PCP stays in charge and I coordinate.

04

Two visits to start, then monthly

We meet twice in your first month to build momentum, then once a month after that. If you want closer support, we can add biweekly or weekly sessions for an additional fee.

05

Messaging between visits

You can message me with clinical questions between visits. I answer within a day or two on weekdays. Urgent issues still go to your PCP or the ER.

06

Coordination with your team

I write to your primary care doctor, cardiologist, endocrinologist, and anyone else you want kept in the loop. You stay in control of who sees what.

I am your physician for lifestyle medicine. I am not your primary care doctor.

Most patients keep their PCP and add me as the lifestyle medicine specialist alongside them.
$250/month  ·  By application
Currently taking 2 new patients per month, eight per quarter. Apply when there's room.
Common questions

Things people ask
before they apply.

If something isn't covered here, ask me on the interest call. I'd rather we have a real conversation than guess at what you need.

Can you be my primary care doctor?

No. I'm your physician for lifestyle medicine. Most patients keep their PCP and add me as the specialist alongside them.

Is this covered by insurance?

No. This is a direct membership program, not covered by commercial insurance or Medicare. The monthly fee is paid out of pocket. But when you have insurance, we use it for what it's actually designed for: labs, specialty referrals, and prescriptions. Your insurance still works for the things insurance is good for.

Can you prescribe medications?

Yes, for the conditions I treat. I adjust, refill, and where appropriate help you deprescribe, taper off and come off medications when the lifestyle work makes them no longer needed.

Will you order and review labs?

Yes. I order what we need, and we can run them through your insurance. We review the results together so the numbers actually mean something to you.

How often do we meet?

Twice in your first month to build momentum, then once a month after that. If you want closer support, biweekly or weekly sessions can be added for an additional fee.

How does communication work between visits?

You can message me with clinical questions between visits. I answer within a day or two on weekdays. Urgent issues still go to your PCP or the ER.

Will you coordinate with my PCP and specialists?

Yes. I write to your primary care doctor, cardiologist, endocrinologist, and anyone else you want kept in the loop. You stay in control of who sees what.

Do I need to be vegan or plant-based?

No. The approach is plant-forward, your way. The plan is built for the life you actually live.

What states are you licensed in?

Twelve: California, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas.

What if I don't currently have a primary care doctor?

That's a real conversation we'll have on the interest call. Most patients need one alongside lifestyle medicine work, and I can help you think through finding one.

Is there an age limit?

No. The work scales to what your health needs.

What does it cost and how do I apply?

$250/month membership. By application. Currently taking 2 new patients per month. The interest form below takes about 5 minutes.

Something I didn't answer here? Mention it in the interest form, or bring it to the call. I'd rather hear it from you than guess.
The first 30 days

How we
start.

One new layer per week. No protocol, no piling on. The goal is to stop spinning, not to be perfect by Friday.

Week 01 · Kindness + Roots

Anchor the day.

One reliable pattern that quiets the food noise. We lock in a morning anchor and a default lunch you can eat on repeat. The afternoon stays as it is. Your only job this week is to notice when you reach for food, not change it yet.

Week 02 · Kindness

Make the environment kinder.

Less willpower, more friction in the right places. Small shifts in your space, where you work, what you see, what gets between you and an automatic reach. A visual cue. A different room. A walk before the pour.

Week 03 · Awareness

Build the pause.

Tell hunger and urge apart. A thirty-second body scan before any afternoon eating. Where do you feel this? Stomach, chest, head? Hungry, or avoiding something? You don't have to act on the answer. You just have to find it.

Week 04 · Roots

One stretch, your choice.

Something that feels like progress, not restriction. You pick one. A dessert swap. An 8pm kitchen close. Weekend lunch structure. One thing, never the laundry list. Repetition beats intensity.

The 30-day check-in

We sit with three questions.

Is the structure holding? Is the food noise quieter? Are you starting to tell hunger and urge apart? Based on the answers, we keep building or we redesign. Either way, you have data, not opinions.

A few short texts a week between visits. Curious, not corrective.
Between Visits

Your pocket
companion.

Visits happen once a month. Cravings, slips, and small wins happen all day. Every patient gets a private web app, RAK Your Life, that lives on their phone home screen. Calm, non-clinical, built around the framework I use in clinic. No App Store. No ads. No tracking sold.

RAK AI

A chat coach in your pocket who asks more questions than it gives answers. Send a photo of the menu and ask what to order. Tell it you just had a hard moment.

Daily Note

A short observation plus one specific try-this prompt from me. Not surveillance. Not assumed completion. Just a small nudge in the direction of awareness.

Toolkits

Sleep, eat, move, breath. Voice-guided meditations and yoga nidra, RAIN for urges, the hunger scale, and the practices I'd hand you in clinic.

Self-Compassion Break

When something hard happens, the app opens with a 90-second self-compassion practice. Not a streak. Not a correction. The fall is part of the practice.

Built by me, for the patients I see. Yours when you become a patient.

About RAK AI

Powered by Claude (Anthropic, Sonnet tier). Trained on my framework and the way I work with patients. It asks better questions than it gives answers.

What it is not: a diagnostic tool, a prescription, a substitute for clinic visits, or appropriate for emergencies. Your visits with me carry the medical weight. Your conversations stay private to your account.

Also included for patients

Full RAK ON Tribe access, live community events (cook-alongs, strength, breathwork, EFT, and more) plus the full resource library: recipe books, exercise guides, meal planning, meal prepping.
