About Dr. Rak
I spent 11 years in hospital medicine, including founding the Lifestyle Medicine program at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco. I had obesity, high blood pressure, and prediabetes. I reversed all three with food, movement, and a slower way of living. I lost 75+ lbs eating plants. No surgery, no medication.
What I learned in that process is what I bring to every cook-along, every patient visit, and every community conversation. The food is the front door. The life is what's behind it.
